Proceedings of the Regular General Assembly of May 20, 2007Today, May 20, Sunday in Athens, the regular General Assembly of the Paparousi Association was held and the subject was: "Minutes of the Board of Directors; approval of the financial statement; review of the prior fiscal year and the election of the new Board of Directors".Dimitrios Kalyvas was elected President of the Assembly, and Ms. Angeliki Vlassopoulou, Secretary for keeping the articles. Of the forty-six members who have fulfilled their financial obligations, twenty-six were present, and a signed list was submitted to the President of the General Assembly (no. 4.21). After the President established the required quorum, the procedures for the placement of the members and the procedure for the election of the supervisory committee commenced. For the supervisory committee, the following were elected: 1. Dana, Fotini, 2. Goulas, Spyros, 3. Vlassopoulou, Fotini. Dim. Kalyvas took the stand first and among other things he said that the outgoing Board of Directors had a positive contribution to the Association and in the advancement of the village. There must always be a well-intentional approach toward them. A significant attainment was the publication of the newspaper and that we all need to support the new Board of Directors as well. Pan. Vlassopoulos, the President of the outgoing Board of Director took the stand next, and while doing the review of the previous year he: Quote: "We innovated in comparison with the past and we placed the foundations for the reviving of the village. Long lasting problems, like the garbage collection were solved permanently. The cleaning of the gorges though, falls on to the Local Authority and the choice for the cleanliness is a matter for all of us. We organized three (3) banquets so we meet one another. The collection of proceeds together with the member subscriptions helped us plan the first serious project for the renovation of the "Priest's home". This gives us the opportunity to built a coffee shop and a folklore museum at the basement of the same building. We published a newspaper with a variety of topics, which helps the continuation of the memories. We created a website for our Association, which is the main point of contact with the second and third generations of our descendants, especially abroad. We have begun the effort to maintain every cultural relic, like the arcaded bridges, the old fount of Giannogianena, etc. We amended the Articles of our Association in order to meet today's needs. These are the actions that demanded and still demand effort and money. We tried to cover the gaps of decades with our accomplishments - consignments for the next generations". Financial review Due to the absence of Vassiliki Dimopoulou, Athanasia Dana presented the financial review: FINANCIAL REVIEW OF THE PERIOD BETWEEN 8/4/2006 UP TO 31/12/2007 Proceeds - subscriptions 2.034,95 € - other expenditures from banquets of the association 7.685,70 € TOTAL: 9.720,65 € Expenditures - publication of calendars and newspapers 1.970.86 € - other expenditures form banquets of the association 5.629.56 € TOTAL: 7.600,42 € Balance: 31/12/2006: 2.120,23 € The Board of Directors approved the review and unanimously decided to authorize the president, Panagioti Vlassopoulo to submit the statement of account of 2006 to the Tax Office of Petroupolis as well as the tax return of the same year. FINANCIAL REVIEW OF THE PERIOD BETWWN 1/1/2007 UNTIL 30/4/2007 Proceeds - from prior use 2.120,23 € - subscriptions 1.498,26 € - sale of calendars 2.281,32 € - banquet 4/2/2007 4.005,00 € TOTAL 9.904,81 € Expenditures - banquet 4/2/2007 2.454,90 € - labor costs for the priest's house (advance) 3.200,00 € - expenditures of the newspaper 458,50 € - other expenses (exterior cleaning of the priest's house, etc.,) 353,41 € TOTAL 6.466,81 € Balance 3.438 € There was a discussion about the transactions as well as general topics: DIM. KALYVAS: Suggestions for the Board of Directors of the association PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: I suggest that the members of the outgoing board put in their nominations together with Nikos Goulas, and Ioannis Gratsiounis, for the vacant positions of Antoni Balatsa and Vassiliki Dimopoulou who have resigned. As for candidate non-voting members, Angeliki Vlassopoulou, Georgo K. Dana, and Dimitri Tsiabasi. DIM. KALYVAS: I ask the President of the BoD to report on the works performed at the priest's house. PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: The project study was entrusted to Mr. Vonorta. We subcontracted Kosta Katergari for the support of the building with the cost of 6.000 €. The City Hall participated with the sum of 2.000 € for the inert materials. We haven't done the settlement of the account yet. IOAN. TSIABASIS: For this type of work we should have obtained offers from other workers. PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: We obtained offers for the mechanic, but not from the contractor. IOAN. TSIABASIS: You should have obtained other offers so you can check how much the project would cost. PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: I would like to point out that the intentions of the board for the contractor and the mechanic were announced at the association's newspaper. IOAN. ANTONOPOULOS: What is stage of the works at the house? ELENI DANA: The rafters have been taken down and the slate has been placed. DIM. KALYVAS: There is a problem because there was no biding for the job. Typically, there must be offers. For next projects, there must be biding and then their publication at a Karpenisi newspaper. PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: As far as I am concerned, the criteria for the selection of the contractor mustn't be the financial offer alone. The nativity, the moral standards, the ability and the experience for the restoration of such a building (the priest's house) must be taken under consideration. Because such a dilapidated building, which has suffered cracks and sliding, needs a careful contractor who has excellent cooperation with the mechanic and the BoD of the Association. IOAN. ANTONOPOULOS: there is no deceit in this act. DIM. KALYVAS: I ask for a timetable for the next works. PAN. VLASSOPOULOS: We must develop the teacher's house in the West Paparousi. This years banquet will be held at the west Paparousi. The priest's house, having priority, has been propped up, up to now, so it won't fall. It is also suggested that the coffee shop at the west Paparousi be turned into a museum. DIM. KALYVAS: What the outgoing BoD has done is very important and we must be well intentional. They suggested the development of the Primary School and we asked that the books of the school be returned from Kalesmeno, where they are kept today. I agree with the suggestion of Dim. Anastasi to raise a monument for the fallen of West Paparousi, but no names should be mentioned. I also suggest that editor for the newspaper of the association be the President of the Board, but we the recipients should have the right to have columns. Concluding, we decided that the association's banquet be held around the 18th of August unless there is opposition from the City Hall. There is a unanimous approval of the transactions and the concert of the inspecting committee. The financial review of the outgoing Board and the planning of the next year is also approved. ELECTIONS: Election of the new Board of Directors The President of the General Assembly, Dim. Kalyvas, asked for nominations for the appointment of the new BoD and the auditing committee. Nominees for the BoD: 1. Vlassopoulos, Panagiotis 2. Dana, Athanasia 3. Dana, Eleni 4. Goulas, Nikolaos 5. Gratsiounis, Ioannis Non-voting members: 1. Vlassopoulou, Angeliki 2. Danas, Giorgos 3. Tsiabasis, Dimitrios Nominees for the auditing committee: 1. Antonopoulos, Ioannis 2. Tsiabasis, Ioannis, and 3. Anastasis, Dimitrios All of the twenty six (26) present regular members who have also fulfilled their financial obligations unanimously agreed to elect the above-mentioned candidates. The new BoD of the association will hold a meeting in the next few days in order to form a management. At this point and since there were no other issues to be discussed the General Assembly ended.
